As educators we will have an important role and our knowledge on internet safety is essential. Also it must be constinously updated due to rapid changes in internet use and behaviour. Here are some guidelines to keep our navigating space safe We should always be on guard. Some elements to bear in mind are the following to keep track of the security in our devices: 1. Control measures : •Device access: Unlock code, facial recognition, visual pattern, fingerprint. •Shared data: Bluetooth, manage location •Remote in case of theft or loss •External memory 2. Lesson #1 Navigation and Search

-We have reflected on the concepts of basic terms such as: the internet, web, website, web browser, search engine.

-We have also learned how to use bookmarks for a personalized use of the internet.

-What I retain are the tips that can be used when searching on a web browser

  • As well as being able to do an Advanced Search we can also use the following words for further accuracy in our search.
  • We can use AND if we want all of the words that we put in our search be included in our findings
  • Or we can use OR if we want two or more terms to appear, not necessarily together.
  • We can also exclude specific terms from our search by using - which means WITHOUT THE WORDS
  • To find results with a specific sentence word by word we can put it in brackets: "Abracadabra said she
  • The I'm feeling lucky button grants that the search results page goes directly to the first ranked page for the search phrase you enter.

I have created a personal account in Diigo. And within Diigo I created a group where I was able to invite only one group member because for advanced use one must pay. It is useful to use because it allows you to save your bookmarks online which means that whatever device we use or browser, we will have access to our favourite and most useful websites.

I created bookmarks for the websites related to our Group Topic "Jobs and Professions"

These are the screenshots:

This is the general view of My Library, in which I posted two links as bookmarks which I individually tagged.

This is the group I created with 4 websites which have relevant material for our group. Sadly I am not able to invite the 4 member as it requires a premium membership.

This is the link to my Diigo account
